PLOT:
Bitti Mishra is a young contemporary girl in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, who works in the complaints department of the local electricity board. Bitti's mother, Sushila, wants to see her daughter marrying a good man from a good family. However, Bitti wants a husband who understands her and accepts her as she is. His mother is irritated by his constant rejection, but his father Narottam understands him.She decides to leave her house and board a train. While on the train platform, she prospectes and buys a book at a book stall. As she reads Bareilly's book titled Barfi, Bitti begins to be identified with the protagonist. After being accepted into the pages of the book, she decides to return home the same night. She yearns to meet the author and thus decides to search for the book's author, Pritam Rebel. She goes back to the same book stall where she bought the book and asks about its author. The book shop owner, Munna, directs it to Chirag Dubey, who owns a printing press and had published the book.
Bitti is unaware that Chirag is actually the real author of the book. He wrote that book five years ago, when his girlfriend left him after going through a pain and married someone else. He wrote the book describing his girlfriend Babli. Since he can destroy his ex-girlfriend's reputation after giving her name as an author, he accompanies Pritam Rebel, familiar with his name as the author of a book. The rebel agrees but is so scared of possible future scenarios, that he leaves the city without telling anyone. Since the book was published, not a single copy was sold on the railway platform that day except the copy that Bitti had purchased.
Bitti tries to find out Vidarbha's whereabouts with Chirag, but Chirag succeeds in persuading the writer to write the letter instead of meeting him in person. He wrote a letter to Vidarbha asking Chirag to go to her. Chirag, being a true writer, writes back and closes it as a reaction to Vidarbha. Thus begins a correspondence between Bitti and the rebel. Meanwhile, Chirag and Bitti know each other better and become good friends. Bitti, however, begins to lose patience when Virohi, despite her repeated requests, refuses to meet her. She does this with Chirag and asks him to arrange to meet Vidarbha once. Chirag, having fallen for Bitti, decides to tell her the truth, that she is the real writer. But later, he learns that Sushila hates the writer for spoiling Bitti and thus decides not to reveal the truth to make him a scapegoat rather than search for Vidurahi.
Chirag comes to Lucknow, where Vidur works as a salesman in a sari showroom, and convinces him to act like a boor with a bad and short tempered attitude, so that Bitti is overcome by his long-distance disillusionment Get rid of. Thus, in his first meeting with Bitti, Vidarbha, as instructed, pretends to be a rude and boorish person, making Bitti angry. However, despite his rude behavior, Vidarbha shows a sensitive side, who eventually gives a second opinion to Bitti and her family. Sushila, however, sees the ideal son-in-law in Vidarbha. Chirag lies about Vidarbha getting divorced, because marrying a divorcee is considered a prohibition.
One day, when Chirag, Vidarbha, Bitti and Rama go on a walk together, Vidarbha reveals his feelings for Rama. While Rama likes her, she rejects him as she learns of his divorce from Chirag. After years of bullying, it becomes the last straw for Vidarbha and he tells Chirag that he will remove Bitti with his fingers. Chirag believes that Bitti will never fall for someone like Vidhohi, accepts the challenge. To his shock, the gold-hearted man from Vidarbha started winning the hearts of Bitti and everyone. Virohi eventually comes to Chirag and Munna and invites them for their engagement with Bitti. Chirag threatened to reveal everything to Bitti, saying that if he could not be happy, he would not let Vidarbha be happy either. Vidarbha calls Chirag out for his selfishness. Chirag goes with Bitti to tell her the truth, but after seeing how happy she is, Assam is unable to say anything to him.
